Expansion of ArtPop Project

Arts Council Announces Expansion of ArtPop Project

Adams Outdoor Advertising Will Display Winning Artwork on Digital Billboards

Winston-Salem, NC  (December 6, 2019) --  The Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County and ArtPop Street Gallery have announced that Adams Outdoor Advertising is contributing space on recently-acquired digital billboards in the Winston-Salem market for artwork by five ArtPop Triad winning artists selected by The Arts Council earlier this year. The ArtPop Triad 2019 artists are Raman Bhardwaj, C.S. Young, Jr., Sarah Frisbie, Cara Bevan, and Trena McNabb.  Their works currently are showcased on Lamar Outdoor Advertising billboards throughout a 12-county region (Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Stokes, Davidson, Surry, Davie, Yadkin, Alamance, Randolph, Rockingham, and Caswell).  Now their works will receive additional exposure on state-of-the-art Adams Outdoor Advertising digital billboards, as space becomes available.

“ArtPop 2019 is the third ArtPop collaborative between the billboard industry and our Arts Council,” said Randy Eaddy, President and CEO of the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County. “It is exciting to help local artists gain this sort of visibility. Having both Lamar and Adams participating now expands the value and reach of the program and aligns perfectly with our mission to ‘Touch Every Corner’.  We deeply appreciate Adams’ generous investment in our arts community”.

Adams Outdoor Advertising’s recently-acquired digital billboard assets in Winston Salem are in very high-profile, heavy-traffic locations. Beginning this week, works by the ArtPop Triad winners will rotate on five of these structures. Their art will be displayed between paid ads when unpurchased time is available.

ArtPop Street Gallery was founded in 2015.  “Artist + Public Outdoor Project = ArtPOP” Street Gallery, which promotes local artists’ original works through the use of donated outdoor advertising space.
