The Winston-Salem Symphony Presents Mahler’s Titan Symphony

In a season finale concert that bridges the past and present with visionary artistry, Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Something for the Dark and Gustav Mahler’s “Titan” Symphony converge to create an unforgettable musical experience. Snider’s contemporary composition, with its evocative orchestration and introspective lyricism, resonates deeply alongside Mahler’s groundbreaking “Titan.”

Both works navigate existential questions through rich orchestral tapestries. From Snider’s nuanced exploration of darkness and light to Mahler’s symphonic journey that traverses from turbulent despair to triumphant resolution, this concert promises a profound dialogue between two composers across generations.
