ARTIST CREATIVE PRACTICE
Program Description
South Arts recognizes the importance of professional development in building artists’ careers. Even with stipends or payments, overall expenses can make participating in these opportunities inaccessible. South Arts offers Artist Creative Practice Grants (formerly Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grants) to ensure that artists from our region can take advantage of a variety of career enhancing opportunities.
The Artist Creative Practice Grant supports a variety of professional development opportunities including milestone activities in an artist's career that will likely lead to substantial career growth.
Grants up to $3,000 are available for opportunities taking place between November 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

Call for Artists: HPAC Community Art Project: ROOTED
The attached link is a call for artists for our new community art project. ROOTED. This project will be concentrated in the Southwest High Point neighborhood at the Southside Recreation Center. The Center is home to several affiliate organizations, such as the Piedmont Health Center and Sickle Cell Agency; the Boys and Girls Club of Greater High Point; Fairview Family Resource Center; and High Point LEAP. https://forms.gle/bVjRL98cySxFZ9cDA

Auditions: “Driving Miss Daisy” by Alfred Uhry, directed by Randy Morris
Having recently demolished another car, a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow is informed by her son that she must rely on the services of a chauffeur. The person he hires for the job is a thoughtful, unemployed black man, whom Miss Daisy immediately regards with disdain and who, in turn, is not impressed with his employer’s patronizing tone and latent prejudice. Despite their mutual differences, the two grow ever closer.
