Tonight’s Special Comedy Special Celebrates One-Year Anniversary with Birthday Extravaganza

A year of laughter, music, improv, and comedy comes full circle with a special anniversary performance at Reynolds Place Theatre on November 14.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – One year of laughs, unexpected moments, musical surprises, and unforgettable performances deserves a celebration! Tonight’s Special Comedy Special is marking its first anniversary with a special 1 Year Birthday Extravaganza on Saturday, November 14, at 8:00 p.m. at Reynolds Place Theatre.

Since its debut, Tonight’s Special Comedy Special has brought together an eclectic mix of performers and comedic styles, creating a one-of-a-kind variety show featuring musical improv, stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, improvisation, and more. With a new and different show every month, audiences never quite know what to expect and that’s all part of the fun.

Producer and Director Kate Carson-Groner reflects on the show's first year:

"It's wild that we have been putting up this show for a year now. When Trevor and I dreamed this thing up, we were really looking for a way to combine music, comedy, improv, and theater into a fun and unique evening that would attract a wide audience. The variety of the show allows everyone to find an act or artist that they love, and hopefully gain an appreciation for something else along the way.

"I wanted to let musical improv be approachable and entertaining to audiences who might have never seen something like this before, and then also become a home for stand-up comedians, sketch comedy artists, improvisers, and other performers to get stage time and try out new things in a supportive space.

"I believe that nights spent laughing with our community are essential for people, especially in challenging times. Hopefully we'll have more folks come out, even if they don't think of themselves as comedy lovers or improv enthusiasts, and give us a try."

The anniversary celebration promises to capture everything audiences have come to love about the show: spontaneous creativity, diverse comedic talent, musical surprises, and plenty of reasons to laugh. Whether you're a longtime fan of improv or simply looking for a fun night out with friends, Tonight’s Special Comedy Special offers an entertaining experience with something for everyone.

Audiences are invited to join the celebration, discover something new, and help make the show's second year even more spectacular.
