A Life Well Remembered

Sponsored Partner: Partners Media Publishing, Inc.

Arts Council is proud to serve as a fiscal sponsor for A LIFE WELL REMEMBERED.

Partners Media Publishing, Inc. is proud to support A Life Well Remembered, a book celebrating the remarkable life of Phyllis Dunning. Written with contributions from her close friend, award-winning actor and writer Joyce Storey, the book honors Phyllis’s enduring impact on the arts and education. Published under AtRandom Media, this project exemplifies our commitment to supporting cultural advancement, with all proceeds benefiting UNCSA, Salem College, and the Howell Binkley Scholarship Fund. Production will begin in March 2025, bringing together local artistic and marketing talent to share Phyllis’s legacy with a global audience. Partners Media’s mission is to elevate stories that inspire, and A Life Well Remembered is a testament to Phyllis’s lasting influence.

This project is led by Myles Thompson, a lifelong publisher dedicated to amplifying meaningful stories. As President and Publisher of Partners Media, Myles has a distinguished career that includes founding Columbia Business School Publishing and leading TEXERE, an international publishing house. Under his leadership, Partners Media remains format-agnostic, delivering content through ebooks, audiobooks, translations, and print. While the company operates as a for-profit venture, its AtRandom Media imprint is dedicated to supporting the arts by publishing works that give back to the community. With A Life Well Remembered, Myles and his team continue their mission of preserving important narratives and making them accessible to a broad audience while ensuring that proceeds benefit meaningful causes.

About Arts Council's Fiscal Sponsorships

In 2021, Arts Council launched a new service to the community by serving as a fiscal agent for projects that fulfil our mission as the chief advocate of arts and culture in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. A fiscal agent is an established IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that agrees to accept donations on behalf of a group that does not have IRS tax exemption. By serving as a fiscal agent for various local projects, we are better able to support the arts and cultural community by accepting funds on our partner's behalf and granting them back to our partner organization. This gives donors a tax deduction for their gift and helps for us to better fulfil our mission at Arts Council.
