Job Title: Marketing Coordinator
Department: Communications
Reports to: Director of Programming
Classification: Part time (20-30 hours/week, includes occasional nights & weekends)
Pay Rate: $22/hr

Job Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator’s role enhances the visibility and impact of the organization through:
Ensuring Arts Council’s revenue-generating events are successfully marketed via website and social media accounts, e-blasts, press opportunities, printed collateral (posters, flyers, campus calendars, mailers), paid targeted marketing, and community promotional resources to maximize ticket sales and reach audiences across all target demographics
Sharing Arts Council’s identity, mission, and achievements through website, social media, press, outreach campaigns, and annual reports
Boosting visibility for other community arts events via social media, press opportunities, and community calendars
Job Responsibilities:
Website
Maintain and update Arts Council’s website; add event listings, press releases, grant and gallery updates, etc.
Social Media
Manage and monitor Arts Council’s social media pages; create content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn; respond to inquiries
Create and run social media ads for Arts Council-produced events
Share information about community arts events and artist opportunities
Compile and send monthly eblasts including Community Events, On-Campus Events, Artist Opportunities, and one-off event promotion emails
Maintain and segment contact list; add contacts from newsletter opt-ins and ticket buyers
Create and send post-show surveys to event attendees
Marketing Strategy
Maintain calendar of scheduled social media posts, eblasts, and press
Create marketing campaign schedule for Arts Council-produced events
Attend marketing strategy meetings
Print/Design
Use Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud to develop and edit materials guided by Arts Council’s brand standards
Create and distribute around campus posters for Arts Council-produced events and campus event calendar
Design and print materials including annual reports, playbills, brochures, donor appeal letters, and banners
Public Relations
Write press releases and coordinate media outreach (via Capture PR & Marketing) for Arts Council events and major announcements
Cultivate relationships with local media (Winston-Salem Journal, YES!Weekly, WStoday, etc)
Analytics/Reporting
Monitor engagement across channels (website traffic, email open rates, social media engagement)
Report on campaign performance, online engagement, survey feedback
Events
Attend Arts Council-produced events to capture photo and video content; share to social media
Other
Perform work in a manner that is consistent with Arts Council’s mission, vision, and values, including advancing Arts Council’s commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion.
This role may evolve as the organization’s programming marketing needs change.
Per Arts Council requirements, all material-generating work must be done using Arts Council-owned technology, software, and accounts, and saved in Arts Council’s cloud storage/server.
Experience/Job Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience creating digital and print marketing materials
Strong graphic design and copywriting skills; close attention to detail relating to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and brand standards
At least 2 years of experience creating social media content for a company/organization
Experience creating and sending emails via Constant Contact or similar
Availability to work in-office 20-30 hours/week and attend off-site events on occasional nights and weekends
Strong time management skills; ability to work on concurrent projects and adhere to deadlines
Proven ability to work as part of a diverse team
Interest in live events, arts advocacy, marketing strategy, and audience development
Essential functions: The ability to communicate effectively via computer, phone, writing, and in person; the ability to utilize computer software to create graphic designs featuring images, text, and colors; the ability to utilize marketing email software and social media programs to effectively communicate text and images; the ability to prepare, distinguish, and distribute printed materials; the ability to capture photo, video, and audio content.
