Arts Council - President & CEO Job Posting

Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County (The Arts Council) is seeking a dynamic and visionary President & CEO (“CEO”) to lead the organization in its next phase of growth in its lifecycle.


Entering its 75th year of operation, the Arts Council is the first and oldest arts council in the country and serves a diverse community of more than 385,000 residents throughout Forsyth County, NC. The next CEO inherits a solid foundation from which to grow. Over the past 3 years the organization’s leadership has rebuilt relationships and community trust, developed a new strategic roadmap/plan, aided in pandemic recovery through securing American Rescue Plan Act funds, improved the financial outlook through restructured debt agreement resulting in no further payments required. Additionally, the organization facilitated, in partnership with 4 other local agencies, an application and interview process in a national initiative on Arts and Wellness.


The President & CEO search is being led by a search committee consisting of current and past board of trustee members, interim leadership, and is being chaired by Chad Cheek, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
