Arts Council Announces 2024-25 Artist Support Grants
Applications will be accepted Monday, August 19 – Thursday, September 26, 2024
Winston-Salem, NC (July 31, 2024) – Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County’s Artist Support Grants applications open Monday, August 19, 2024. Artist Support Grants intend to support a broad range of talented artists in visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, music composition, choreography and interdisciplinary arts. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to spending a significant portion of their time on their work as artists. Individual artists or unincorporated artist collectives residing in Forsyth, Guilford, Davidson, Davie or Randolph counties are eligible to apply. Awards range from $500 up to $2,000. The application deadline is September 26, 2024.

Join Us for a Virtual Information Sessions
Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County and The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro will host two virtual informational sessions for the public. The sessions will take place on Friday, August 9th from 12:00 -1:00PM and Wednesday, August 21, from 5:30 – 6:30PM. During each session, interested applicants will meet with grant coordinators to learn more about the grant process. Artist Support Grants are funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and they support a range of professional and artistic development including the creation of work, new equipment and materials, improvement of business operations, professional or artistic development workshops, travel support and expanding capacity to bring work to new audiences. Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County and The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro will administer the grant process and conduct a review panel to determine awardees. Other regional partners include Arts Davidson County, Davie County Arts Council, and Randolph Arts Guild. All partners work together to provide marketing, artist outreach, applicant workshops, and assist applicants through the grant process.
Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County is the leading advocate of arts in our region and seeks to enhance and support the local artistic and cultural landscape. Established in 1949 as the first arts council in the nation, the pioneering organization is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2024. Arts Council owns and operates a campus which includes the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts. In 2023, it hosted 670 on-campus events with 60,000 attendees and distributed over $1.2 million in grants, benefiting over 800,000 people.
