Multicultural Grassroots Grants

About the Program

Multicultural Grassroots Arts Grants provides programmatic support to organizations demonstrating artistic excellence and has a mission that reflects African American, Asian American, Latin American, or Native American cultures. This grant is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program and recognizes multicultural organizations with an established record of arts programs and services to Forsyth County. Arts and Culture organizations that meet the multicultural requirement below are eligible to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $35,000.

 

Examples of arts and culture programs funded by Grassroots: 

  • Performances 

  • Festivals 

  • Art exhibitions 

  • Arts camps and after-school programs 

  • Artist fees for classes and workshops 

  • Marketing expenses for art walks and studio tours 

  • Royalties, props, sets, and costumes for theater performances 

  • Equipment rental for arts programming 

  • Space rental for arts programming 

Timeline

Application Deadline: Wednesday, October 15, 11:59 PM EST 

Review of Application: â€¯November 2025 

Award Notification:  December 2025 

Project Period: â€¯July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

Required Quarterly Reporting Dates: July 15, 2026 

Grant Eligibility

To be eligible, organizations must be: 

  • A 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization and in operation for at least one year 

  • Operate within a mission that describes arts and culture as the primary purpose 

  • Operate programs and services within Forsyth County as their primary residence 

  • Not be a North Carolina State entity or receive direct operating support from the North Carolina Arts Council.

2025 Holiday Hours:

The Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts will have reduced hours from 1p - 9p on the 22nd and 23rd and will be closed from the 24th through the 4th reopening on the 5th.

By entering our venue or attending any event on our premises, you acknowledge that photography and videography may occur. You grant the venue permission to use images and recordings of you for event documentation and promotional purposes.
