Arts For EveryBody Community Project Grants
About the Program
Arts For EveryBody Community Project Grants were designed to build upon the momentum of the national initiative One Nation One Project/Arts For EveryBody, which assessed how arts improved mental wellbeing in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. In the spirit of Arts For EveryBody, these grant funds will support artist-led and/or community-based projects that foster art participation and improve healthier communities through arts and culture. Eligible applicants can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $35,000.

Priority will be given to Projects that encourages collaboration, address social and/or economic impact through the arts, or connect artists or arts professionals.

About Arts for EveryBody
Winston-Salem was one of 18 cities across the nation to participate in Arts For EveryBody to demonstrate how arts can lead to healthier people and communities. The Arts for EveryBody initiative in Winston-Salem, NC, consists of five key organizations: Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County, the Kenan Institute for the Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, United Health Centers, City of Winston-Salem Neighborhood Services, and the Forsyth County Department of Behavioral Health Services. Three neighborhoods were selected for this project: Happy Hill, Boston Thurmond, and Cleveland Avenue. The initiative centers on arts and mental wellbeing, with events in these communities leading up to the main event, Creative Wellness Community Day, held on July 27, 2024. The emphasis on mental wellbeing stems from the challenges these neighborhoods have faced, including limited access to physical and behavioral health providers and incidents of gun violence in recent years. Creative Wellness Community Day highlighted artists from diverse disciplines to foster healing and inspire hope.
