This play by Emily Mann is adapted from the book by Sarah and Elizabeth Delany about their lives as the daughters of a minister born in slavery and a mother of mixed ancestry with roots in Raleigh, NC. The sisters lived through Jim Crow, two world wars, the Harlem Renaissance and experience the civil and women's rights movements.
