She Rises unites the voices of seven Latina women artists who bring diverse mediums and perspectives to explore the strength, creativity, and resilience of Latina identity. The exhibition features painting, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, leatherwork, printmaking, poetry, and photography, each layered with meaning and rooted in heritage. 

“Our work explores identity, memory, resilience, and transformation,” the artists write in their collective statement. “We draw inspiration from our grandmothers’ stories shared in the kitchen, from our own journeys and those of our families, and from the deep connections we feel to both the land we live in and the places we come from.” 

Materials such as clay, copper, linen, leather, canvas, paper, paint, ink, fire, and words carry symbolic weight throughout the exhibition. Clay connects to the earth, copper represents resilience, linen embodies a mother’s touch, and many works use layering to reflect complex histories. 

The exhibition is interactive, inviting visitors to add their own stories or creative touches to a large collaborative artwork that will evolve over the course of the show. A dedicated storytelling space also invites community members to share experiences inspired by the works, weaving together the voices of artists and audience. 

“She Rises: Art y Alma de la Mujer Latina. United by creativity and heritage, we are seven Latina women from the Triad, sharing our stories through art,” said the artists. “Our work showcases Latina creativity, rooted in our experiences, rich in meaning, and driven by a desire to connect, heal, and make a genuine difference in our communities.”
