The Enrichment Center - Day Program - Music POD Leader

Qualifications: Must have a valid NC Driver License, and dependable transportation. Must be willing to transport Individuals in your personal vehicle. Must be willing to work in a group setting with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Must be willing to go into individuals homes to provide services.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Serve as the “POD Leader” for a group of 6-10 people with IDD.

  • Responsible for developing lesson plans and group activities that relate to POD mission.

  • Implement lessons and activities that teach and build life skills, managing finances, independent living skills, safety skills, being a responsible citizen, enjoying leisure and recreational activities, accessing the community, self-awareness, self-confidence, social skills, and pro-social behavior.

  • Plan activities and lead individuals in a group setting.

  • Maintain contact with individuals served, at all times, unless other arrangements have been made.

  • Work with other POD Leaders to create Zoom activities to provide social interaction.

  • Work with multiple individuals to achieve a variety of individualized goals.

  • Engage individuals served in various activities such as arts and crafts and life skills.

  • Monitor and document progress of each assigned individual’s goals throughout the day.

  • Assist with meals and toileting when necessary, including having a working knowledge of the Hoyer Lift in the restrooms.

  • Complete documentation within 24 hours of service delivery

  • Provide support and direction to achieve goals listed in the individuals served Person-Centered Plans.

  • Assist with program details to meet needs and interests of individual members.

  • Reinforce positive behaviors and promote social interaction.

  • Work with team and communicates issues related to individuals served.

  • Provide transportation when needed.

  • Help develop new skills and interests.

  • Observe individuals served to ensure safety.

  • Maintain a safe environment.

  • Maintain a high level of care and professionalism at all times.

  • Arrive on time, prepared to begin work with individuals when their day begins.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
