Arts Council - House Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION: House Manager – Hanesbrands Theatre and Milton Rhodes
Multiple part-time positions to be hired on an as needed basis.
Company Information: The mission of the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County is to provide support, coordination and advocacy for arts and culture in our region. Owning and operating public arts facilities is one of the many ways we provide support, coordination and service to our arts and cultural partners and the larger community.
Type of position: part-time; hourly; non-exempt; reports to Event and Venue Manager
Hourly range: $15 per hour

Ensure the opening of the house
Disable alarm; open public entrances; turn on lights; document unsecure areas
Ensure the closing of the house
Ensure all patrons, volunteers and staff are gone; lock public entrances; turn off lights; check restrooms; prepare checklist; arm alarm
Coordinate and support all elements related to the house
Coordinate and manage volunteers providing them with their duties for each event t
Greet patrons, take tickets and distribute playbills when requested
Seat late patrons
Enforce house rules and proactively watch for disturbances in the house
Implement emergency protocol if necessary
Act as liaison between the public, users and facility
Maintain attendance numbers for each show
Occasional housekeeping and set-up/tear-down duties before and after events
Assist in concessions area when necessary
Manage FOH staffing in partnership with the Event & Venue Manager (as assigned)
Maintaining and restocking of concessions inventory
Other duties as assigned by Event and Venue Manager
Two or more years of customer service with theater experience preferred
Ability to provide professional and courteous service to the public
Ability to communicate verbally in an effective and authoritative manner when necessary
Ability to be flexible with work hours including weekends and evenings
Proven ability to work as part of a diverse team of individuals
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more if necessary to assist patrons in physical distress
