Job Title: Front of House Associate Department: Theatre Operations & Programming Reports to: Front of House Coordinator / Director of Programming Classification: Part time (hours variable, including nights and weekends), hourly, non-exempt Pay Rate: $11/hr - $15/hr

Job Summary:
The Front of House Associate works in various roles including Front Desk, Box Office, Concessions, and House Manager, providing excellent customer service to Arts Council guests during a wide variety of live events and performances that are hosted in our venues.
Job Responsibilities:
Front Desk – greet visitors, track attendance, monitor security cameras, direct phone calls, and perform gift shop sales at the front desk of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts
Box Office – greet patrons and sell tickets to events and performances in Hanesbrands Theatre, Reynolds Place Theatre, and Mountcastle Forum
Concessions – serve and sell drinks and snacks to patrons before and during performances at Hanesbrands Theatre and Reynolds Place Theatre concessions stands
House Manager - oversee audience experience, safety, and accessibility needs, open and close theatre facilities, greet guests, seat late patrons, implement emergency protocols as needed
Perform work in a manner that is consistent with Arts Council’s mission, vision, and values, including advancing the organization’s commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion
Other duties as assigned by Front of House Coordinator or Director of Programming
Desired Experience/Job Requirements:
Experience providing excellent customer service to guests from diverse backgrounds
Experience directing crowds in event settings
Proficiency with point-of-sale systems (retail, food service, and/or box office) and cash handling
Experience serving food or drink in a professional setting
Experience with and passion for cultural arts organizations
Flexible availability for work hours, including nights and weekends
Proven ability to work as part of a diverse team of individuals
Age 21+ (for concessions sales)
Essential functions: The ability to sit or stand for multiple hours; communicate effectively with staff and guests via computer, telephone, and in-person; perform point-of-sale transactions; effectively address and direct large crowds
