Located at 251 N Spruce Street in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, Mountcastle Forum is the smallest of the three multi-function theatre venues on the Arts Council campus.
As a performance venue, Mountcastle Forum is an intimate and versatile black-box theatre with basic lighting and audio systems. It can seat 80-150 audience members depending on the stage configuration for smaller-scale theatrical productions, music and dance events, comedy, film screenings, and immersive experiences.
For non-performance events, Mountcastle Forum can be configured with tables and chairs or an open floorplan for private receptions, catered meals, parties, corporate training programs, lectures, or other meetings. It can accommodate 100 seated guests, or up to 200 guests for standing-room-only events.
Mountcastle Forum is located on the second floor of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts. This location is accessible via stairs or elevator. Restrooms and a catering kitchen are on the same floor, adjacent to the theatre space. Sawtooth School for Visual Art is also located on this floor.
Guests entering the building from Spruce Street will pass through the Main Gallery, providing the opportunity to experience the art exhibitions on display, browse the creations of local artisans in the Community Arts Gift Shop, and purchase beverages or snacks from the Concessions Stand before performances.
Convenient paid parking is available in the paved lot across the street from the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts. Event Parking is available for $3, and Daily Parking is available for $5. There are several additional parking garages located within walking distance.
Concessions are available for purchase before performances and during intermission for events in Hanesbrands Theatre, Reynolds Place Theatre, and Mountcastle Forum. Selection includes popcorn, candy, sodas, water, wine, and beer. Concessions are permitted inside theatre venues unless otherwise noted. All concessions proceeds benefit Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County.
Arts Council venues are delighted to provide accessible accommodations and services for guests with disabilities. For specific accessibility requests, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
