The Downtown Center for the Arts

At the center of our Campaign is the creation of a magnificent multi-purpose building that incorporates performing arts spaces, public galleries and arts education into one spectacular facility.Over the past several months, two architectural firms are collaborating for the first time: Calloway Johnson Moore and West and Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce. They have developed architectural plans for a dramatic new facility that will become the Downtown Center for the Arts. To build where the arts will come alive, they will work with the construction firm of Frank L. Blum Construction Co., experts at adaptive reuse projects, and the landscape architects at Stimmel Associates.
At an approximate cost of $11 million, our goal is to renovate the Sawtooth building and surrounding area to create the Downtown Center for the Arts that will include:
- New performing arts spaces
- More accessible and gracious public galleries
- Enhanced arts education areas
- A revitalized amphitheatre
- Landscaped parking areas that are safe for our patrons
