Fundraising Overview

The Campaign, spearheaded by The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, along with the Sawtooth School for Visual Art, has a goal of raising $26 million. This amount was chosen after careful study because this funding will allow for execution of significant initiatives that can have a big impact on the arts in our area without causing undue stress to individual arts or arts institutions in our city.

The master plan for the Campaign has four cornerstones as we build where the arts come alive in our city:

  • The creation of a new Downtown Center for the Arts that is designed to become the "community's living room" where people of all backgrounds can come together to share a common love for the arts;

  • Enhancement of The Arts Council's Annual Fund to foster the growth of arts in our city by providing annual operating support to arts organizations and artists;

  • Establishment of an arts endowment to sustain the new Downtown Center for the Arts and to benefit the arts community for years to come; and

  • The creation of the first-ever, long-term marketing budget to raise awareness and drive participation in multiple arts initiatives in our area.
